The Badger Herald, one of the student newspapers at UW, recently wrote a story about the Epistemic Game group’s new grants. The article describes the group’s work on the Urban Science and Nephrotex games, and has a nice quote summarizing a key point in How Computer Games Help Children Learn:
Computer games are more authentic than what we do in schools today [because] they make it possible to have kids learn by doing things that are actually meaningful to the world.
