Kris Scopinich is Education Director at Mass Audubon’s Drumlin Farm Wildlife Sanctuary.
Background
Kris oversees and manages education programs for schools, children, families, and adults at the sanctuary and off-site in local communities. She and her staff work with over 800 schools throughout the state and partner with several school districts developing curriculum that addresses science learning through place-based field studies and citizen science.
Multi-year projects she has developed capitalize on bringing diverse groups of people together to design and implement community-based environmental education programs where youth, teachers, adult mentors and citizens learn about local habitats and implement stewardship projects in their communities. Her interest is in developing learning environments that encourage youth to explore their connection to the environment as well as the role they can play in its conservation.
