His interests are Diagnostic Classification Models, Evidence Centered Design and Second Language Assessment. He is currently collaborating with the Epistemic Games research group, focusing on task specification development.
Background
Tiago Caliço is a Ph.D. Student at the University of Maryland, Department of Measurement, Statistics and Evaluation. He received his Bachelor’s degree in 2002, and his Master in Portuguese Foreign Language Teaching in 2009, both from University of Lisbon. For the past eight years, Tiago worked as a Portuguese Foreign Language Instructor, as well as in the development and deployment of Foreign Language assessments. He is currently working with the Epistemic Games groups, focusing on task specification models and how overt and covert game design choices play a role in measurement models and score interpretations.
