Digital Zoo in a school!

Padraig helping Aran Nulty run a Digital Zoo epistemic game in local private elementary school in January, which is exciting for our research group because it will be the first time that an epistemic game will take place during a school day, when presumably students would otherwise be participating in their usual classroom routines. Padraig will specifically benefit from his participation in this game because it gives him access to the students’ teachers, who will be observing the game (and their students’ participation in it) unfold from the perspective of non-participating observers. He hopes to learn from their observations of the impact of the game on their students. He plans to share his findings with school communities who might be interested in intregrating epistemic games into their curricula. At the very least, he’s sure the school in Chicago that we work with this spring will be interested in the story of our first run!
