Games and Professional Practice Simulations (GAPPS) Collaborative (2004-2007)
Funded by the Academic Advanced Distributed Learning CoLaboratory at the University of Wisconsin, this collaborative of professors at the University of Wisconsin-Madison School of Education and developers at the Academic ADL CoLaboratory was founded by Judy Brown of the ADL CoLaboratory and David Williamson Shaffer, James Paul Gee, Kurt Squire and Richard Halverson to establish a university/industry think-tank for research on games and education. The project included $105,000 in funding for work on epistemic games.
