Cynthia D’Angelo
Cynthia D’Angelo is a post doc with the Epistemic Games group. She is currently the Research Director for the group’s grants.
Gina Navoa Svarovsky
Gina Navoa Svarovsky was the first graduate student and first PhD graduate of the epistemic games group. A former engineer and classroom teacher, her research has focused on the design, implementation, and assessment of the Digital Zoo epistemic game.
David Hatfield
David Hatfield is a dissertator in the Epistemic Games research group at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He is interested in epistemic game engines – the technologies used in epistemic games and designed to help young people learn to think like professionals. David is currently working on an epistemic network analysis of journalism feedback, comparing a journalism practicum and the journalism epistemic game science.net. He is also working on the design of a new version of the Urban Science game engine with Elizabeth Bagley.
Elizabeth Bagley
Elizabeth Bagley is a graduate student in the Epistemic Games research group. She is interested in the design and assessment of epistemic games. In particular, Elizabeth is interested in how players’ perceptions of their cities change after engaging in the professional practices of urban planning in Urban Science.
Padraig Nash
Padraig Nash is a graduate student in the Epistemic Games research group at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He is interested in the issues, challenges, and opportunities presented when sharing existing epistemic games with new educational communities. Dennis Paiz-Ramirez is a graduate student in the Epistemic Games research group at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He is interested in how new technologies (including video games) are used in the classroom, and the affordances they provide the user.
Elizabeth Owen
Elizabeth Owen is a graduate student in the Epistemic Games research group at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. She is committed to research in designing epistemic games to maximize student engagement and provide authentic assessment of critical thinking skills.
Golnaz Arastoopour
Golnaz Arastoopour is a graduate student in the Epistemic Games research group at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. She is interested in how new technologies are effective and increase student engagement in STEM fields.
Edward Rath
Edward Rath is currently an undergraduate student in the Epistemic Games research group at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He produces videos that document the work of the group. He is interested in how technologies influence human evolution and psychology.

Matthew Gushta
Matthew Gushta is a graduate student at the University of Maryland. His current research interests include application of cognitive psychology to assessment design and analysis, multidimensional modeling, simulation-based and games-based assessment design, and computer-based testing.

Zhiqiang Cai is presently a programmer in the Department of Psychology and the Institute of Intelligent Systems at the University of Memphis. His work centers around developing software that involves mathematical modeling in linguistics and cognition.

Brent Morgan is an experimental psychology PhD student working in the Institute for Intelligent Systems, the Cognitive Science Lab, and the Advanced Distributed Workforce Co-Lab at the University of Memphis. He is interested in intelligent tutoring systems, modeling student knowledge, computational linguistics, strategy change, and game design.

Robin Stuart is the School and Groups Program Coordinator and Teacher Naturalist at Mass Audubon’s Drumlin Farm Wildlife Sanctuary. She specializes in freshwater ecology, herpetology and falconry.
