The Portal is the web-based professional environment that mediates all of the players’ interactions. Players use the Portal to interact with NPCs, planning consultants, and colleagues via instant messaging and email, embark on virtual site visits, record their impressions in their planning notebook, refer to professional resources, and complete preference surveys and final plans.

iPlan is the web-based planning tool players use to make land use changes and see the consequences of their changes.
